There is free on-street parking available near the City Hall and the Library after 7 p.m. You should plan to put a few quarters in the meters from 6:30-7:00 so you dont get a ticket! 

Also, Yale Lot 51, which is located behind the Library on Temple Street (see map), is free and open to the public on weekdays after 4:00 p.m.
City Hall is also located in close proximity to numerous CT Transit bus stops, and is within walking distance from the State Street train station.
